A Bit About Me

Oh, hello there! I'm Sam, an introverted extrovert, with a passion for marketing, branding, writing and design.

...And passion for my nieces, my nephews, my family, my cats, and my Ben.

Let's take it back for a second to talk about a young, bony, freckled-face odd-ball. Growing up in South Bend, Indiana, one of my favorite activities as an elementary school student was creating scripts and plays. I'd audition my friends for the roles, schedule rehearsals, create invitations, personally invite neighbors, and create the stage/seating for guests.

Little did I know, I was just getting my start in writing, marketing, communicating, and managing events.

Fast forward 10 years ahead...

I chose the University of Alabama for my continued studies. A semester abroad and a few Graphic Design courses later, I transferred to the University of Indianapolis to finish my undergraduate degree, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Communications, with an emphasis in Public Relations.

I spent eight years in Indianapolis, mainly working in Food and Beverage Marketing. Early on, I found myself under the most incredible mentors. These leaders championed my success, and in turn,  bolstered my confidence, inspired my creativity, and heard my voice before I fully heard it myself. I strive to always utilize their leadership techniques in all facets of my professional career. Helping other lead and succeed is not a burden, it's a gift.

Some things I've learned along the way...
  • Kindness is a virtue.

  • We can sometimes create the stressful environment that we live in. Take a breath and all will be better.

  • Not everyone follows the same compass, don't feed into the toxicity that others bring. Stay confident in who you are, what you do, and what you know.

  • Everyone knows more about a topic than you do, and others know less about a different topic than you do. Take every interaction as a learning experience, no matter where you are, or they are, in life.

A little more fluff, if you're still reading...

I find it time-wasting, and frankly a little boring, to just sit around waiting for someone to assign my next task.

I find zen moments in the stressful situations.

I believe in taking a deep breath, and just digging deep into what needs to be done.

I enjoy finding solutions to problems that are outside the scope of my "job".

I love lightbulb creative moments that wake me up in the middle of the night.

I thrive on passion and connecting to a brand/company.

I find it fueling when this passion for the brand starts at the very top.
